9 Christmas Marketing Ideas for Nail Salons

For most Australian nail salons, December is the biggest month of the year. Work parties, family photos, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and the start of summer holidays all land in the same few weeks. The salons that do best in December usually started planning in late October or early November.

Here are nine Christmas marketing ideas that don't need a big budget — most of them use things you already have: your regular clients, your Google profile and your booking page.

1. Open your December calendar early

Clients who book early are your easiest December revenue. Make sure your online booking page shows December dates now, so regulars can lock in their Christmas appointment before the good times go. A short message to your regulars — "December is filling up, here's the link to book" — is often the single most effective thing you'll send all season.

2. Pre-book the next visit at checkout

When a client pays in November, ask whether they'd like their Christmas appointment booked now. It takes ten seconds at the counter and fills the busiest weeks with people you already know.

3. Sell gift vouchers from the first week of November

Gift vouchers are bought for other people, so they bring you new clients in January and February — when it's normally quiet. Put vouchers at the counter, on your booking page and in your Instagram bio. Start early: most voucher buyers are organised people who shop in November, not the week before Christmas.

4. Create a Christmas service menu

A short seasonal menu gives clients an easy decision and gives you something to post about:

  • A Christmas nail art add-on (red, gold, glitter, simple festive designs).
  • A "party ready" combination — for example a BIAB infill with a brow tidy.
  • A summer pedicure for the first sandal weeks.

Price add-ons from your real time and product cost, the same way you price the rest of your menu — our guide on how to price nail services walks through it.

5. Update your Google Business Profile

December is when new clients search "nails near me" the most. Add fresh photos of real work, update your hours for the holiday weeks, and make sure your booking link is on the profile. Every new review helps you show up — here's how to get more Google reviews without asking awkwardly.

6. Post the work, not the discount

Instagram and TikTok work best when they show what clients will actually get. Post a festive set every few days, show your nail techs at work, and put "Book online" in your bio and stories. You don't need to discount in December — demand is already there.

7. Bring back clients who haven't visited in a while

December is a natural reason to get in touch with clients who haven't booked for two or three months: "Getting your nails done for Christmas? We'd love to see you again." Keep it short, send it once, and include the booking link.

8. Reward your regulars

Loyalty points, a small add-on on the house or a thank-you card in December costs little and is remembered. If you run a points program, remind clients how many points they have before Christmas — it's a reason to come in.

9. Plan January before December ends

January is often quiet after the rush. Before Christmas, set up your January plan: voucher redemptions, rebooking reminders and a message for clients you saw in December. Our list of nail salon marketing ideas has more for the rest of the year.
