Pair your EFTPOS terminal with Ukilu

Linkly Cloud EFTPOS

This guide shows you how to connect a Linkly Cloud EFTPOS terminal to Ukilu, and how to pair it again if you replace the terminal or move Ukilu to a new iPad.

Before you start

  • A Linkly Cloud-enabled EFTPOS terminal, powered on and connected to the internet.
  • Your Linkly Cloud username and Cloud password. These are supplied by Linkly or your bank when your terminal is set up — they are not your Ukilu login.
  • Your Ukilu manager PIN.

Have Ukilu open and ready before you begin, because the pairing code from the terminal expires after a short time.

Step 1 — Get the pairing code from your terminal

On the EFTPOS terminal, open the pairing screen and note the 6-digit pairing code it displays. Leave the terminal on this screen while you complete the next steps.

On most terminals the code is FUNC then 8880. It varies by bank and PIN pad model, so if that does not work, your bank or EFTPOS provider can tell you the right one for your terminal.

Step 2 — Open the Linkly settings in Ukilu

  1. Tap More in the bottom bar.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Integrations section.
  4. Turn on Linkly EFTPOS.
  5. Enter your manager PIN when prompted.

The Pair EFTPOS terminal screen opens.

Step 3 — Enter your details

  • Cloud username — your Linkly Cloud username
  • Cloud password — your Linkly Cloud password
  • Pairing code — the 6 digits shown on the terminal in Step 1

Tap Pair terminal.

Step 4 — Check it worked

When pairing succeeds the screen closes and Linkly EFTPOS stays switched on in Settings. The terminal returns to its idle screen.

Take a small test payment to confirm everything is connected:

  1. Go to Checkout.
  2. Enter $1.00, choose Card, then tap Charge.
  3. The terminal should prompt for a card straight away.
  4. Refund the test payment from Report when you are done.

Re-pairing your terminal

You need to pair again if you:

  • replace or swap your EFTPOS terminal
  • have your terminal re-registered by Linkly or your bank
  • reinstall Ukilu, or move to a different iPad
  • see the message "Linkly terminal is not paired"

To re-pair:

  1. Tap More, then Settings, then Integrations.
  2. Turn Linkly EFTPOS off and enter your manager PIN. This clears the stored credentials for this terminal.
  3. Get a fresh pairing code from the terminal (Step 1).
  4. Turn Linkly EFTPOS back on and repeat Steps 2 to 4.

If something goes wrong

  • Linkly authentication failed — your Cloud username or password is wrong, or the pairing code has expired. Check your credentials, get a fresh pairing code from the terminal, and try again.
  • Linkly terminal is not paired — no terminal is currently paired to this iPad. Follow the re-pairing steps above.
  • PINpad Offline — Ukilu reached Linkly Cloud, but the terminal is not connected. Check the terminal is powered on and has internet, then try the sale again.
  • Linkly Cloud is temporarily unavailable — wait a moment and try again. If it persists, contact Linkly support.
  • Linkly payment recovery notice on startup — Ukilu was closed part-way through a sale and has checked what happened to it. The notice tells you whether the payment went through and gives the transaction reference, and a receipt is printed for your records.
